Solton DX 4 is a four-channel Class TD power amplifier built for touring and installations that need a large power reserve without excessive weight. It delivers 2200 W per channel into 4 ohms, 2600 W per channel into 2 ohms, and up to 5000 W per bridged pair into 4 ohms, with distortion held below 0.05% and a damping factor above 1000. That headroom lets a single unit drive both subwoofers and a mid-high section from one rack space.
Power and Stability Under Load
The amplifier holds a 20 Hz to 34 kHz frequency response at nominal power and extends to 50 kHz at 10 dB below nominal, giving transient headroom without sacrificing stability. Selectable voltage gain in steps from 23 to 44 dB lets engineers match input sensitivity to a specific mixer or loudspeaker processor without touching the source signal level. Channel separation above 70 dB at 1 kHz keeps crosstalk under control in multi-way setups.
Protection Built for the Road
A comprehensive protection set covering short circuits, DC voltage, turn-on and turn-off transients, inrush current, and sub- and ultrasonic input signals keeps both the amplifier and connected speakers safe under heavy use. Step-switched fan cooling adjusts airflow to the actual load, cutting noise at lower power and maintaining proper heat dissipation at full output. Stereo or bridged operation is selected from the rear panel, making it fast to reconfigure the amplifier between different tasks.
