Solton CL 6

Solton CL 6 is a passive two-way ultra-compact line array element in a 15 mm birch plywood enclosure, designed for vertical flown and ground-stacked configurations in theaters, clubs, event spaces and contemporary churches where full-size touring line array systems would be disproportionate in size or cost. At 15.4 kg and 650 x 245 x 330 mm with a 100° x 12° coverage pattern, it delivers wide, consistent horizontal dispersion and the tight vertical control characteristic of true line source behaviour.

Dual 6.5" Neodymium drivers and horn-loaded HF with waveguide — consistent tonality across every row

Two 6.5" Neodymium drivers on 1.5" voice coils handle the MF/LF range in a bass-reflex loading. The HF compression driver on a 1.75" voice coil with a 1" exit is horn-loaded through a line wave-forming waveguide that shapes the wavefront to match the line source configuration and minimise inter-element interference. A passive crossover at 2.3 kHz with PTC driver protection handles the transition precisely and limits the HF driver current under overload conditions without a fuse. The 16 Ω nominal impedance supports 1, 2, 3 or 4 elements per amplifier channel — useful impedance flexibility without passive combiner boxes. Two NL4 connectors allow daisy-chaining through the array. The integral 3-point rigging system supports arcs of up to 16 cabinets, with the FLC 6-15 flying frame (art. 12518) handling both CL 6 elements and the CL 15 Sub in a combined fly. The FLC 6 ST stacking frame (art. 12523) allows ground-stacking CL 6 elements directly on top of subwoofers.

System configurations and GLL files for EASE Focus

Solton provides GLL files for the CL 6, enabling full acoustic simulation in EASE Focus 3 before deployment — precise arc angle, SPL coverage and splay calculations without on-site trial runs. Recommended subwoofers are the CL 15 Sub, A 218 Sub, A 118 Sub and A 18 FL Sub. The dedicated amplifier is the DX 4; active crossover and system processing uses the DSP 206 N controller. A typical System 1 configuration is 8x CL 6 (2x4) with 2x A 218 Sub and 1x DX 4; System 2 scales to 16x CL 6 (2x8) with 2x4 A 118 Sub and 2x DX 4.
