Solton aart T-28 A is an active two-way bi-amped loudspeaker in a multi-angle 15 mm birch plywood enclosure, built around a D'Appolito configuration — two 8" aaCRAAFT drivers on 2" voice coils flanking a 1" exit HF compression driver on a 1.75" voice coil. At 14.6 kg and 250 x 700 x 250 mm it is one of the lightest active cabinets with dual 8" drivers in the Solton range — compact enough for stage monitor or installation top duty, capable enough to cover a conference room or a club without a subwoofer for light programme material.
D'Appolito arrangement — coherent phase and controlled vertical dispersion
Placing two 8" drivers symmetrically above and below the HF compression driver minimises vertical lobing at the crossover transition, producing consistent coverage in the vertical plane without pronounced cancellation or reinforcement zones near the crossover frequency. The dual-channel Class D bi-amp with integrated DSP and four factory presets covers fullrange, MF/HF, stage monitor and installation scenarios without cable changes. The 90° x 60° constant-directivity horn rotates by hand between vertical and horizontal orientation — useful whether the cabinet is on a speaker stand, a wall bracket or lying flat as a floor monitor. Mic/Line input with high-resolution preamp and switchable Mix OUT handle zone chaining or signal monitoring directly from the cabinet. The dual-band limiter protects LF and HF drivers independently. Seven M8 inserts and an M20 pole socket cover all standard rigging scenarios — fly with the TU Frame bracket (art. 12522), tripod stand, U-bracket or monitor position.
Mobile multipurpose top — from monitor to standalone PA
The aart T-28 A works equally well as a standalone fullrange cabinet for speech and light music, and as an MF/HF top in a system with a subwoofer. The officially recommended bass partners are the aart SUB 15 A and aart SUB 18 A — both active, connected directly without an outboard processor. The built-in monitor mode in the DSP makes it a functional backline wedge alternative, reducing the total equipment count on smaller stages where a dedicated monitor mix is not justified.
