Shadow Hills Industries Mastering Compressor

Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor is a 2-channel mastering compressor with Mono and Stereo operation modes, a frequency range of 20-20000 Hz, VU Meter, 2 x XLR Inputs, and 2 x XLR Outputs. The Mastering Compressor boasts exceptional functionality, providing mastering compression and limiting for tracking and mixing. Essentially, two consecutive compressors per channel can operate in either stereo or dual mono mode.

The input stage is balanced by a transformer, followed by a fully discrete optical compressor. This section uses the same T4B optical attenuator found in the LA2A and LA3A, but optimized for mastering. The second stage is a class A discrete VCA compressor. There are no electrolytic caps or ICs in the signal path. Six ratio settings are available: 1.2:1, 2:1, 3:1, 4:1, 6:1, and 10:1. Additionally, there are six attack settings: 0.1, 0.5, 1, 5, 10, and 30 milliseconds. An insert filter is provided in the sidechain to limit heavy bass material. Finally, the signal passes through a new network of Shadow Hills transformer switches made of nickel, iron, and steel, allowing for selection between them.
