Schoeps MiniCMIT is a compact, ultra-light shotgun microphone that delivers the renowned Schoeps sound in a smaller, more versatile form. Sharing the same interference tube design as the acclaimed CMIT 5, the MiniCMIT offers outstanding directivity and natural tonal balance, making it ideal for film, broadcast, and music production alike.
Despite its minimal dimensions — only 151 mm in length and weighing just 78 grams — the MiniCMIT maintains exceptional performance. Its highly directional supercardioid/lobar polar pattern provides precise focus on the source while minimizing unwanted off-axis noise with remarkably low coloration. The microphone’s frequency response remains consistent, even when rotated around its axis, ensuring stable tone and spatial accuracy during boom operation.
The MiniCMIT features a steep 70 Hz high-pass filter (24 dB/oct) to effectively suppress low-frequency rumble and handling noise. It delivers a smooth, flat response up to 20 kHz, with a gentle roll-off in the diffuse field above 2 kHz for natural ambient reproduction. Designed for professional use, it operates on standard 48V phantom power and matches sonically with both the Schoeps CMIT 5 and SuperCMIT microphones, allowing for seamless integration in multi-microphone setups.
Each MiniCMIT comes in an elegant wooden case and includes a W 140B windscreen and SG 20 stand clamp, ensuring full readiness for studio or location work.
