The VideoMicro II builds on the success of the iconic original VideoMicro with next-generation improvements including a redesigned body and overhauled circuitry for optimized performance. The true supercardioid shotgun design clearly picks up sound from in front of the microphone while significantly reducing background noise from the sides and rear, making it ideal for capturing clear dialogue and subject audio in various recording environments. The revolutionary annular line tube technology – first introduced in RØDE's professional NTG5 shotgun microphone – delivers exceptional transparency and full-bodied audio quality previously unattainable in ultra-compact microphones. With no batteries required and no complicated controls or switches, the VideoMicro II operates via plug-in power from your camera or device through its 3.5mm TRS connection.
The groundbreaking HELIX isolation mount represents a major innovation in compact microphone shock mounting. Developed in-house by RØDE specifically for the VideoMicro II and molded from a single piece of advanced Hytrel thermoplastic, it provides superior protection from knocks, bumps, and handling noise while maintaining an ultra-low-profile design. The mount features integrated cable management slots, a standard cold shoe mount for camera attachment, and a 3/8-inch thread for mounting onto boompoles and other accessories. Despite its compact 80mm × 22mm dimensions, the VideoMicro II features rugged all-metal construction with premium components for exceptional durability. The microphone delivers impressive specifications including 79 dB signal-to-noise ratio, 95 dB dynamic range, 110 dB maximum SPL, and -30dBV sensitivity. Includes deluxe foam windshield, WS12 furry windshield for outdoor recording, SC13 TRS to TRS cable for cameras, and SC7 TRS to TRRS coiled cable for smartphones.
