RODE NT55 — a versatile small-diaphragm condenser microphone designed for professional studio and live recording. Equipped with interchangeable cardioid and omnidirectional capsules, the NT55 delivers precise, detailed sound with exceptional clarity and flexibility for a wide range of applications — from acoustic instruments and choirs to drum overheads and orchestral work.
The NT55 features a gold-sputtered ½-inch condenser capsule and a transformerless output stage for maximum signal purity and low noise. Its frequency response is smooth and extended, capturing every nuance with natural transparency. A selectable 10 dB and 20 dB pad allows the NT55 to handle sound pressure levels up to 149 dB, while the switchable high-pass filters (75 Hz and 150 Hz) help control low-frequency rumble and proximity effect.
Precision-engineered from durable brass and finished in satin nickel, the NT55 is built for professional reliability. It comes with both cardioid (NT55-C) and omnidirectional (NT55-O) capsules, making it one of the most flexible small-diaphragm microphones in its class.
