Native Instruments Maschine MK3 or MASCHINE is a production studio with the benefits of a computer system. MASCHINE is ideal for creating live music as well as in the studio. The controller has advanced editing features and software. Creating beats is often not very intuitive with a computer, but with MASCHINE hardware it is easy and fun: you can freely tap the pads or use the Note Repeat function, build your beats with the step sequencer, just like in a classic drum machine, intuitively combine patterns and change them on the fly to create interesting ideas, use different versions of a song without having to stop the music.
Native Instruments MASCHINE MK3 can be integrated with any sequencer that supports VST, AU or AAX plug-ins and benefit in almost any software configuration or used as a stand-alone application. MASCHINE allows you to use your own material, cut and rearrange loops with ease. But MASCHINE is much more than a simple groovebox or sampler: it includes, among other things, an inspiring 7-gigabyte library and a sophisticated but easy-to-use tag-based browser with instant access to the sounds you're looking for. What's more, MASCHINE provides multiple options for manipulating sounds with internal effects and other sound shaping possibilities. You can also control external MIDI hardware and external software devices with a hardware controller when customising the functions of the pads, knob and buttons to suit your needs using the included Controller Editor app.
Additional characteristics:
- Auto Sampler: Sampler now includes Auto Sampler for automating the sampling process of an external or internal synthesiser by sending one or more MIDI notes and recording the incoming audio. Auto Sampler also includes batch processing features with three possible actions that can be run at the end of the recording. These functions include: Find Loop to find loop points in all recorded samples, Trim Silence to remove quiet passages at the beginning and end of files, and Normalize to make samples more consistent in volume.

Auto Backup: The Auto Backup option on the 'general preferences' page provides an option to automatically save your work to avoid losing important changes if you close unexpectedly.
- Chordinversion: The Chords function includes a new parameter called Position, which allows single notes of a chord to be spread out to help with more musical transitions between chords.
- Savesounds with samples: The Save function allows you to save sounds with samples. This is useful if you want to use the sound (and its samples) in other projects or share them with other MASCHINE users. Using this function can also be beneficial when creating instruments using the automatic sampler.

Poly Synth: Based on the Native Instruments Pro-53 plug-in, Poly Synth provides the colour and character of a classic dual-oscillator synth created for full control with MASCHINE. This provides warm vintage tones, organic bass and shimmering goldener-style pads from the 1980s. Assign modulation, switch routing, mix sounds, patch and play magical polysynths.

Multiple clip selection: Using MASCHINE software, you can select multiple Clips in the timeline of a song, keeping the focus on just one clip. Multiple Clips can be selected by clicking and dragging or holding [cmd] (macOS) or [alt] (Windows) and then individually clicking Clips to select them. This allows you to move or copy multiple clips at once or apply context menu functions such as Clear, Colour, Duplicate and Delete.
- Enhanced arpeggiator modes: MASCHINE now includes an advanced and range arpeggiator mode. Advanced arpeggiator includes Retrigger, Repeat, Offset and Inversion, allowing you to explore alternative versions of the same arpeggiator sequence. Range mode allows you to set the minimum and maximum range of notes used in the arpeggiator sequence.
