Kali Audio LP-6G V2 — an active 2-way nearfield studio monitor in a Tungsten Grey finish, with a 6.5-inch woofer and 1-inch dome tweeter, tuned with switchable EQ for different placements in the room.

The LP-6G V2 is the grey-finish version of the second-generation LP-6 V2 from the Lone Pine series — same electronics and acoustics, only the cabinet finish differs. The updated Class D amplifier platform cuts self-noise by 12 dB compared to the first generation and adds 3 dB of extra headroom. The bi-amped design splits 80 W of power across two independent channels — 40 W for the low-frequency section and 40 W for the high-frequency section. Frequency response falls within 39 Hz - 25 kHz (-10 dB), and a lightened low-frequency cone improves transient response without giving up control over the bass.

Color as a way to mark a workstation

In a room with several monitor pairs, or a studio hosting different clients, it's easy to mix up gear, or you may simply want something other than the standard black finish. The LP-6G V2 keeps every acoustic parameter of the base model — the same lightened paper-cone woofer, the same textile dome tweeter, the same 3D imaging waveguide — changing only the MDF color to Tungsten Grey. It's a limited edition, available through select dealers.

EQ correction for real-world placement

Where a monitor sits — on a stand, against a wall, or on a desk — changes the low-frequency response and masks detail in the mix. The LP-6G V2 addresses this with eight DIP switches: three control Boundary EQ presets (free space, on stands next to a wall, meter bridge, on a desk away from a wall, on a desk next to a wall, Studio Desk), two handle LF trim, two handle HF trim (each ±2 dB), and the last one switches the RCA input on or off to cut interference when it's not in use. A front-firing port lets you place the monitor close to a wall without boomy low-end buildup.
