Kali Audio IN-5W — a 3-way studio monitor with a coaxial tweeter nested inside the midrange driver, finished in white, backed by a dedicated 5-inch woofer, running on 160 W of tri-amplified power.

The IN-5W is the white-finish version of the second-generation IN-5 — same electronics and acoustics, only the cabinet finish differs. Splitting the frequency spectrum across three independent drivers unburdens each one individually, keeping THD under 1.4% and delivering a noticeably cleaner picture of the mix. The woofer-to-midrange crossover sits at 280 Hz, and the coaxial module itself acts as a built-in waveguide for the 1-inch dome. Frequency response covers 39 Hz - 25 kHz (-10 dB), narrowing to 47 Hz - 21 kHz at ±3 dB, with a max SPL of 112 dB.

A single acoustic point instead of two separate drivers

Separating the tweeter and midrange in a typical 2-way monitor causes off-axis lobing and phase inconsistencies that blur the precision of instrument placement in a mix. On the IN-5W, the tweeter sits coaxially inside the midrange cone, so sound arrives from a single acoustic point source. The profile-optimized 4-inch midrange driver doubles as a waveguide for the tweeter, ensuring even dispersion. The result: a stable stereo image and precise element placement, legible even off-axis — useful when working on immersive formats like Dolby Atmos.

A white finish for a setup that needs to look the part

Black is the default finish, but it doesn't always suit a lighter room design or a workstation that shows up on camera in front of clients. The IN-5W keeps every acoustic parameter of the base model, changing only the cabinet color to white. Updated Boundary EQ presets let you mount the monitor vertically or horizontally without losing correct low-frequency compensation, and lower amplifier self-noise means quiet passages in the mix reveal only the material, not the electronics.
