Heritage Audio has released the rack-mounted two-channel analog equalizer Symph EQ, designed for use with individual instruments during mixing as well as with finished compositions in the mastering section.
Symph EQ features a fully discrete Class A circuit with low noise and is equipped with Carnhill input/output transformers. Each channel of the model has an adjustable cutoff frequency for both low and high filters, along with two sections for adjusting low and high frequencies. Both sections can be used for both boosting and cutting the signal. The frequency range for low frequencies is 20 – 470 Hz, and for high frequencies, it is 8 – 24 kHz. The model supports equalization in both L/R and Mid/Side modes. Connectivity options include 2 XLR inputs and 2 XLR outputs.
SYMPH EQ Features
- Custom Carnhill Oxford input transformers
- Custom Carnhill St Ives output transformers
- A high-end, 73-style Class A output stage
- All controls use high-quality rotary switches for 0.5dB precision equalizing
- Mid-side processing allows for precise center bass management and high boosting hard panned sources without affecting center ones such as vocals, snare, etc. Side high-pass filter turns into elliptical type when in M/S, as implemented in vintage disk cutters
- Stereo and M/S inputs and outputs, all balanced and ground free (unbalanced compatible) on gold plated XLRs. ON M/S or stereo mode and BP-L/BP-R, individual hard BYPASS per channel
- Fully manufactured in the EU
