Focusrite RedNet R1 — a desktop remote controller for Red interfaces and any Dante-enabled device, combining source and monitor switching with a full talkback section in one unit.
The unit connects over a single Ethernet cable that carries audio, control data and PoE power at once, so a Red interface can stay racked while every switching decision happens from the desktop. Two colour LCD screens show real-time metering for outputs, sources and headphones, and setup runs through RedNet Control 2 or directly from the front panel.
Source switching without touching the DAW session
R1 handles up to eight source groups of up to 12 channels each, for a maximum of 32 channels drawn from analogue inputs, ADAT, S/PDIF, Pro Tools | HD and the Dante network. Switch and sum lets you combine and swap between these sources without repatching or changing routing inside the session — an A/B switch compares monitor setups on the fly, four fold-down presets check downmixes instantly, and the engineer keeps full control over what actually reaches the monitors regardless of how many workstations are active on the network.
Surround monitoring and talkback in a single box
Up to 12 monitor output channels cover everything from mono and stereo through 7.1.4, including Dolby Atmos and other immersive formats, with full control over level, reference level, dim, mute and multiple solo modes. Talkback runs over Dante independent of the main signal path — choose the built-in microphone or an XLR input with phantom power, route to up to four destination groups when paired with a Red interface, trigger talkback remotely through the 6.35 mm footswitch input, and drive high-impedance headphones from the high-output headphone amp.
