The powerful subwoofer of the Alpha Evo series

Focal Sub One is

a

sophisticated subwoofer for studio use . It incorporates 2x 8" carbon fibre woofers from the Focal Alpha Evo series for a 10% larger cone area than a single 10" subwoofer, with only slightly larger cabinet dimensions. The opposing orientation of the two drivers also results in a much more even dispersion of the bass , so that even smaller rooms are only slightly triggered. The transducer material and special manufacturing technology used by Focal ensure a fast impulse response without reverberation thanks to high rigidity at low weight . Strong neodymium magnets also guarantee a powerful response and high efficiency.

If you have a sound card with a DSP mixer, you can control the crossover frequency and high-pass of the subwoofer from your computer. But the internal settings also leave almost no wish for room adjustment:

The

crossover frequency can be infinitely adjusted from 32 to 120Hz , and a high-pass filter with 2 corner frequencies is available so that room modes and intermodulation distortion can be effectively controlled.
