Erica Synths HexDrums – hybrid analog drum machine designed in collaboration with Hexinverter, combining powerful analog circuits with digital control and sequencing. It features ten dedicated drum voices, sample-based cymbals, a stereo compressor, and a performance-ready sequencer, delivering classic punch and warmth with modern flexibility.

The core of HexDrums consists of ten analog voices that cover all essential percussion elements. Two bass drum circuits provide both a tuned oscillator kick with click shaping and a damped sine variant with pitch, tone, and decay control for combining punch and depth. The Machine voice blends dual oscillators and noise for tuned percussion or gritty textures, while snare, clap, rimshot and claves each offer precise tonal shaping. Open and closed hats share a noise source but act independently, providing natural interplay and groove.

Crash and ride cymbals are sample based, with ten selectable sets and adjustable tuning and decay. A ride loop option adds rhythmic shimmer or evolving sustain. Dedicated level knobs and individual audio outputs for each drum voice make it easy to mix externally while keeping cymbals on the main stereo bus. Stereo panning and a soft-knee compressor add width and glue, while the master drive stage provides saturation with wet/dry blending for controlled grit.

The X0X-style sequencer offers up to 64 steps per pattern, 16 banks of 16 patterns, per-step microtiming, probability, ratchets, accents, and per-track settings for time division and direction. Live performance tools include mute, solo, roll, shuffle, and instant pattern reload. The onboard song mode lets you chain patterns for full arrangements. USB B provides backup and firmware updates, while MIDI and clock I/O ensure seamless integration with any setup.
