Featuring a striking red faceplate and exclusive badging, this special model combines the full feature set of the upgraded EL8-X (including British Mode and Stereo Image Link) with unique signal path modifications. At its core lies the famous Triad HS-56 input transformer, which significantly lowers input impedance (to 600 Ohms) and introduces earlier, richer harmonic saturation, adding clarity and "size" to the low-end content.
Like the original, the EL8-XXX features a digitally controlled analog signal path, ensuring precision and recallability. It offers 8 selectable compression curves (ranging from subtle 1:1 to extreme Nuke modes), programmable harmonic distortion modes (Dist 2/3) that emulate tube and tape characteristics, and advanced detector filters. Thanks to new discrete components and the Triad transformer, the XXX version saturates faster than the classic Distressor, making it a powerful creative tool for shaping tone, particularly on drums and vocals.
