Akai MPC Key 37 Gen 2 is a standalone production workstation pairing a 37-key synth-action keybed with polyphonic aftertouch and the legendary MPC sequencer, built for producers who write on keys but rely on MPC speed. The second generation adds an 8-core G2 processor with four times the processing power, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, translating directly into larger sessions, faster project loads and stable performance under load. Everything runs on the MPC3 operating system with a full Linear Arranger.

Full productions without a computer

The common pain for a keys-first producer is dependence on a DAW and a laptop on the road. Key 37 G2 closes the whole chain in one box: up to 16 stereo audio tracks let you record vocals, guitar or an external synth straight to the hardware, while up to 32 plugin instrument instances give headroom for dense, layered arrangements. The Linear Arranger in MPC3 builds song structure in DAW fashion, so a jam-session sketch becomes a finished track without switching to a computer.

One cable for the hybrid studio

The USB-C port handles 24×24 audio streaming, expanded MIDI and both host and device modes over a single cable. Connect a phone or tablet and sample from it directly, while Ableton Live Control Mode plus Live project import and export fold the unit into an existing setup. Eight CV/Gate outputs tie it to a modular rig, removing the need for extra interfaces.
