This means you get the detailed sounds of your desired tube and solid-state microphone preamps - 100% and including input impedance, gain stage 'sweet spots' and component-level circuitry behaviour of the original equipment! Work virtually without delay with emulations such as the included and 610-B Tube Preamp &amp, EQ for unparalleled, authentic analogue sound. Unison technology is also on the front panel of the Hi-Z instrument input, providing perfect impedance and gain matching for guitar and bass amplifiers from Fender, Marshall, Ampeg and many others.

However, UA engineers made it their mission to improve on the previous generation's world-class audio conversion, completely redesigning it to deliver a staggering 127 dB dynamic range and -117 dB distortion. This gives Apollo Twin X an open, organic sound that easily rivals dedicated high-end converters.

What is Luna

?Luna is Universal Audio's in-house, full-featured DAW that realises a unique, deep integration of preamp, interface, DSP and sequencer. With Luna, for the first time, the entire recording and production process can be realised using hardware and software from a single manufacturer in a single screen window. Using the well-known UAD2 plug-ins, Luna controls the microphone amplifiers in the Apollo interfaces, adjusts their impedance and tone characteristics to match the emulated analogue hardware, and enables gain staging monitoring. What's more, the DSP cores of all Apollo interfaces and UAD DSPs are controlled from a central location, reducing the overall latency from signal input to output to less than 2ms. Together with Luna's special extensions for, for example, Neve consoles and Studer multitrack tape machines, you'll not only be able to record as if you were in an analogue studio, but you'll also sound like you're in an analogue studio!

Luna also features Unison microphone preamp plug-ins from Neve, Manley, API, Avalon and others, and includes a range of newly developed instruments. These include the realistic Minimoog, a gorgeous concert grand piano that combines sampling and physical modelling, Spitfire Audio's orchestral instruments and a large sample library.

Luna is free for owners of newer Apollo interfaces, so no one has to worry when switching: Luna supports AAF's cross-DAW session format!
