BOSS DM-101 - an analog delay pedal with 12 modes, 127 preset memory slots, buffered bypass, mono and stereo modes.
The DM-101 is based on 100% analog BBD circuits controlled by a processor. Analog delays based on BBD (Bucket-Brigade Device) chips emerged in the 1970s as a compact and economical alternative to standard tape delays. Their warm and saturated sound created a distinct delay style that is still favored by many musicians and sound engineers.
The DM-101 effortlessly transitions between gritty vintage echoes and modern analog delay tones with extended high-frequency clarity. The Variation knob allows you to switch unique parameters for each of the 12 modes: Classic, Vintage, Modern, Multi-Head, Non-Linear, Ambience, Reflect, Doubling+Delay, Wide, Dual Mod, Pan, and Pattern. Additionally, you can turn the delay into lush self-oscillation by turning the Intensity knob.
The DM-101 processor can achieve complex stereo sounds not available with other analog BBD delays. The Pan mode directs each BBD and its feedback loop to alternative points in the stereo field, while the Dual Mod mode shifts the modulation phase for each output, creating a wide and spacious delay effect. Six out of the 12 modes support stereo operation.
