The Black version, made for the brand's 15th anniversary, has a deep black finish and a black RCA-type knob, while the circuit and the signal path are the same as in the standard Baby RAM. See monitor controllers and studio gear in our Warsaw showroom.

Switch sources and monitors without coloring the sound

An active controller adds its own electronics to the path, and with two interfaces and two pairs of monitors all you really need is a switch and a level control. Baby RAM is passive, so it needs no power, adds no distortion or noise, and its headroom is limited only by the devices before and after it. The insertion loss is below 0.2 dB. Push buttons select one of two inputs and one of two outputs, and you can run both output pairs at once by pressing both buttons together.

Level in 24 steps and three control buttons

Level is set by a 4-gang rotary switch with 24 steps of 3 dB, which keeps the left and right channels matched to within a tenth of a decibel. Mute, Dim and Mono buttons let you silence the monitors, lower the level or check mono compatibility quickly. The balanced, floating inputs and outputs also accept unbalanced signals.

KEY FEATURES

Passive monitor controller, no power needed

2 stereo input pairs and 2 stereo output pairs, both outputs can run at once

Balanced and floating gold-plated 6.35 mm TRS jacks, unbalanced compatible

24-step passive attenuator, L/R matching within 0.1 dB

Mute, Dim and Mono buttons

No added distortion or noise, unlimited headroom

Black Edition: black finish and a black RCA-type knob

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Type: passive monitor controller

Inputs: 2 stereo pairs, 6.35 mm TRS

Outputs: 2 stereo pairs, 6.35 mm TRS

Level control: 4-gang rotary switch, 24 steps of 3 dB

Functions: Mute, Dim, Mono

Insertion loss: below 0.2 dB

Finish: black, RCA-type knob
