genelec-8350a-black
Genelec 8350A Black 8 inch SAM Powered Studio Monitor

Genelec 8350A Black is an active 2-way nearfield monitor from the Smart Active Monitoring family. It has a 205 mm woofer and a 25 mm tweeter in a DCW waveguide, two Class D amplifiers (200 W for the woofer and 150 W for the tweeter) and up to 112 dB SPL. The Black version has a black enclosure. See Genelec monitors in our Warsaw showroom.

Neutral monitoring with headroom

At high levels many monitors start to compress the low end and colour the mids. The 8350A covers 33 Hz to 22 kHz (-6 dB) with a response accuracy of +/- 1.5 dB (38 Hz to 20 kHz). The DCW waveguide and the MDE enclosure reduce diffraction and give a wide, uncoloured sweet spot, so your mix decisions hold even when you are not sitting exactly on axis.

Calibrating the monitor to your room in GLM

The monitor is part of the SAM system, so you set it up and calibrate it in the free GLM software, which compensates for room influence from mono to immersive layouts. Calibration needs either a 9320A controller or a GLM Calibration Kit, both sold separately. Besides the analog XLR input there are an AES/EBU input and output and two RJ45 sockets for the GLM network. For a desk or a stand Genelec offers, among others, 8000-325B/W table stands and 8000-409 floor stands (sold separately).

KEY FEATURES

Active 2-way SAM monitor, 205 mm woofer and 25 mm tweeter

200 W bass + 150 W treble (Class D), up to 112 dB SPL

DCW waveguide, MDE enclosure, reflex port, Iso-Pod stand

GLM calibration (9320A or GLM Calibration Kit sold separately)

Analog XLR input, AES/EBU input and output, 2 x RJ45

2-year warranty, plus 3 more years when registered on MyGenelec

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Type: active SAM studio monitor, 2-way

Finish: Black

Drivers: 205 mm woofer, 25 mm tweeter

Amplifiers: 200 W bass + 150 W treble (Class D)

Max SPL: 112 dB

Frequency response: 33 Hz to 22 kHz (-6 dB)

Response accuracy: +/- 1.5 dB (38 Hz to 20 kHz)

Inputs and connectors: 1 x analog XLR, 1 x AES/EBU XLR input, 1 x AES/EBU XLR output, 2 x RJ45 (GLM network)

Dimensions: H 452 x W 286 x D 278 mm / 17.8 x 11.3 x 10.9 in, with Iso-Pod stand

Weight: 12.8 kg / 28.2 lb

Package: monitor, 1.8 m mains cable, 5 m RJ45 cable, operating manual
