Novation Launchkey 49 mk4 is a powerful DAW controller with a set of built-in creation tools. Every element is designed with musicality, expressiveness, and a focus on creative creation in mind; from semi-weighted keys and 16 pads with polyphonic aftertouch to a carefully laid-out control surface with deep DAW integration. Play instruments and percussion, trigger clips and scenes, and gain instant hands-on control over the mixer, devices, and DAW effects. Improved DAW Integration

Launchkey supports all major DAW software right out of the box, with smooth, custom integration for: Ableton Live, Logic, Cubase, Reason Studios, Reaper, FL Studio, and Ardour. This gives you a hardware workflow that provides full control over transport functions, timeline navigation, mixing and audio tuning, launching clips, and instrument and effect parameters. And while using the session view in Ableton Live or live loops in Logic, the 16 drum pads also serve a dual function as Launchpad-style clip launchers with RGB backlighting that perfectly matches what you see on the screen.

The revamped keys on Launchkey 49 are sensitive enough for the most delicate passages while also being built for durability. Now with 49 semi-weighted waterfall-style keys, Launchkey delivers all the power of a software-based workflow with the feel of a high-quality hardware instrument.

And for finger drummers, Launchkey now offers patented pressure-sensitive FSR drum pads with polyphonic aftertouch. Unlike standard pads, each one features a unique radial sensor that increases sensitivity and improves consistency, providing even better performances.

More Advanced Creative Tools

Launchkey 49's creative tools are built directly into the hardware, so they work just as well in your DAW, with hardware synths, or on mobile devices. Scale modes now allow you to lock the keyboard to one of 30 different scales to eliminate wrong notes and even map everything to just the white keys. Fixed Chord mode triggers full chords from a single key, and the new chord maps go even further, allowing you to create emotional progressions using the Launchkey pads. The latest iteration of the beloved arpeggiator makes it easier than ever to twist and mutate your sequences for endless inspiration.

Want to control more than one instrument at the same time? You can now split the Launchkey 49 keyboard into two zones and play with one hand – or layer two MIDI channels across all 49 keys and send the same notes to both.

Play Your Way with Custom Modes

The controls on Launchkey are not limited to the default assignments; simply load the free Components software in your browser and set them up to behave exactly how you want with software or hardware. You can store up to four custom mappings for the faders, pads, and encoders on the Launchkey and recall them instantly from the hardware to send selected notes, MIDI CC, or program changes.

Step Beyond the Computer

The five-pin MIDI output of Launchkey 49 makes it easy to connect a hardware synthesizer—no DAW required. With the components and custom mappings, you can take control of all the essential functions directly from the keyboard. Launchkey is also powered via USB, making it fully compatible with countless music creation apps for iPhone and iPad—including the free Novation Launchpad app.
