random

module is a random module for Eurorack-format modular synthesisers. It randomly generates control voltages and noises. The module is divided into two sections , one of which generates sound noises in four different versions (white, blue, pink and red noise) , and the other two mirror random clocks , random voltages and random clock sources. It is also possible to set the random distribution via a potentiometer and apply the selected distribution to each of the four tracks independently.

Audio noiseEach

form of noise has its own output, with the following audio signals

:
  • Blue noise at a spectrum of +3 dB per octave
  • White noise at a spectrum of 0 dB per octave
  • Pink noise in the spectrum -3 dB per octave
  • Red noise in the spectrum -6 dB per octave
Random clocksThe dual

clock generator consists of two independent stages of operation. This is based on the random signals of the voltage channels. The frequencies can be set by potentiometers and modulated by the CV inputs. Normal and arbitrary clock signals can be tapped individually, with the random output having two modes of operation:

  • More than mode: Normal clock signals and random triggers are output together.
  • Less-Than mode: Only random triggers are displayed.
Random voltagesThe two

channels generate random voltages on a semitone and octave basis. The number of stages used (n) can be changed from 1 to 6 using the knob or CV inputs. There are two ways to process the values:

  • 2n channel: Generates quantised voltages in 1/12 V steps. (Corresponds to semitones according to the 1 V per octave standard.) The range of values extends from two to 64 steps. (0 V to +5.25 V)
  • Channel N+1: Generates quantised voltages up to 1 V. (Corresponds to octave steps according to the 1 V per octave standard.) The range of values extends from two to seven steps. (0 V to +6 V)
