Universal Audio proudly presents Apollo X Gen 2 – the new generation of its acclaimed audio interfaces, designed for both Mac and Windows-based studios. The new series introduces significant improvements in audio processing, including enhanced AD/DA converters and a range of new features, such as integrated Sonarworks room correction, further boosting the creativity of musicians and producers.

Apollo X Gen 2: Even Better Sound

The new Apollo X Gen 2 interfaces offer the highest-quality 24-bit/192kHz A/D and D/A converters, ensuring maximum precision during recording and playback. An exciting new feature is the “Monitor Correction,” developed in collaboration with Sonarworks, which enables real-time calibration of monitors, headphones, and even the room itself. This feature ensures consistent mixing and mastering in any environment and is also available to owners of the first-generation Apollo X!

The new Auto Gain function in the console software makes setting input levels easier than ever. With a single click, levels are automatically adjusted to optimal values, which is especially useful when working with Unison preamp emulations from API, Neve, or SSL. Additionally, the subwoofer bass management system offers precise control over trim, mute, solo, and crossover frequency, allowing seamless integration of a subwoofer into your monitoring system – an ideal solution for surround sound studios.

More Power in Real Time

One of the most groundbreaking elements of the new Apollo X Gen 2 series is the ability to synchronize audio in real time via dual USB-C ports, which is particularly appealing for live performers. The new interfaces also allow for saving multiple plugin scenes and recalling them manually or via MIDI – flexibility that musicians will appreciate during live performances.

Surround sound users will value the new quick-switching feature between different surround sound modes during monitoring. This makes it easy to switch between surround sound and traditional stereo.

Plugins, Emulations, and More

Like its predecessors, Apollo X Gen 2 supports over 200 UAD plugins, available in all popular formats – VST, AU, and AAX64. By default, the interfaces come equipped with Antares Auto-Tune, as well as emulations of legendary studio gear such as Neve, API, and Manley, all in Universal Audio’s renowned quality. Moreover, the new version of the UAD SSL 4000 E and G-Bus Compressor will be available natively.

In addition to the new Apollo X Gen 2 series, Universal Audio is also introducing new software effects and bundles, including the Topline Vocal Suite – a versatile collection of tools for modern vocal production, along with three new guitar amp plugins (Dream '65, Ruby '63, and Lion '68), based on UAFX’s award-winning algorithms, available for both Mac and Windows.

A New Standard in Audio Interfaces

Apollo X Gen 2 redefines the standard for professional audio interfaces, combining the best of analog and digital sound in a smooth, seamless workflow. With new features and expanded support for a wide range of monitoring scenarios, this series offers an unparalleled solution for professional studios and ambitious home creators alike. It's worth noting that first-generation Apollo X owners haven’t been forgotten – they will also receive new software updates.

These audio interfaces can be purchased from Wired Tunes.
